Paper in Science Journal finds Arctic sea ice extent 8000 years ago was less than half of the `record` low of 2007!

        Scientific paper in Science Journal has revealed that summer Arctic sea ice extent during the holocene Thermal Maximum 8000 years ago was less than half of the `record low 2007 level`.  The paper found a general build up of sea ice from about 6000 years before the present which reached a maximum during the Little Ice Age(which ended around 1850) and attained its present extent at 4000 years before the present.   (Science 5 August 2011  Vol 333 No 6043  PP 747-750.  Reported in hockeyschtick.blogspot .co.uk.
