The virgin birth of Christ. Eternal salvation for all who come. A moment of history.

 As we commemorate the birth of Christ our Saviour  Rev Philip Foster MA  has reminded me of two favourite Biblical texts which are appropriate to recall at this moment.

First StMatthew ch 2 vv10-11    "when they saw the star they rejoiced with exceeding great joy,

                                           And when they had come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him and when they had opened their treasures, they presented to him gifts; gold and frankincense and myrrh"                                           

Second St Luke ch 2 vv29-32     "Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word: For my eyes have seen thy salvation,.which thou hast prepared before the face of all people; a light to enlighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel"
