I ...Submitted by Pete Ridley 4 February 2013 18:49

I draw attention to statements in this article which I consider could mislead the unwary. The claim that
1) “ .. Dr Tim Ball .. was Professor of Climatology at the University of Winnipeg for thirty years .. ” aligns with what Dr. Ball was claiming in 2003, 2006 and 2007 (Note a). That claim conflicts with what Dr. Ball now claims in his CV, which says that he was a Professor for a period of only 8 years, from 1988-1996 (http://drtimball.com/_files/dr-tim-ball-CV.pdf). It seems that Dr. Ball was not a Professor of Climatology but a Professor of Geography who also gave lectures relating to climate issues.
2) “ .. Ball .. has been the driving force behind the worldwide team of over 200 experts from various scientific fields to address the climate issue .. ” is arguable, with evidence in the public domain indicating that the driving force behind PSI has always been its “visionary”, project leader John O’Sullivan (Note b).
Tim Ball’s contribution to those numerous exchanges amounted to one E-mail on 28th Dec. 2010 when he told John “ .. I am in support of this proposal and will make a contribution .. ” (Note c).
3) “ .. The increasing carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is coming from de-gassing from the oceans as a result of temperature changes hundreds of years previously. The amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere as a result of human activity is less than 0.036 percent of the atmosphere--insignificant... ” could cause confusion. It is claimed that the total atmospheric CO2 content measured at Mauna Loa in December 2012 was 394.28 ppm, up from 385 in 2008 (http://www.esrl.noaa.gov/gmd/ccgg/trends/). May I suggest that this statement be clarified.

NOTES

a) See SpotlightOn –Principia Scientific International, Section 3.1 Co-Founder and Chairman Dr. Timothy Francis Ball (http://globalpoliticalshenanigans.blogspot.co.uk/2012/06/spotlighton-principia-scientific.html)

b) It can be clearly seen from the E-mail exchanges that preceded the setting up of PSI as a private association in July 2011 that it was unemployed art teacher John O’Sullivan who enthusiastically promoted his vision as CEO of an international publishing company. As John acknowledged on 1st Jan. 2011 “ .. Most of my conversations about a vision for PSI have been with Hans Schreuder and Joe Olson .. ” (http://globalpoliticalshenanigans.blogspot.co.uk/2012/06/psi-due-diligence-20102011-selected-e.html). In response to John’s further attempt on 15th Jan. 2011 to pursuade the group to support him in setting up PSI as a private company Professor Claes Johnson said “ .. the vision of PSI as presented is inflated beyond my comprehension .. ”.
More information about some of those “ .. 200 experts .. ” can be found in the SpotlightOn – Principia Scientific International” article ((http://globalpoliticalshenanigans.blogspot.co.uk/2012/06/spotlighton-principia-scientific.html).

c) in response to John’s appeal on 26th Dec. “ .. I am happy to work with one of my contacts in the DC area to file a mandamus in the federal court in D.C. on behalf of PSI. .. If we can raise $3,000 I can set the legal wheels in motion .. ”. That amounted to a measly $150 for each member of the group but the appeal failed and John launched a public appeal for £15,000 (http://www.gofundme.com/1v39s) – another failed appeal for money, having raised only £450 in 2 years, of which John admitted on 19th Jan. that “ .. As for the donations so far, I can reveal the first donation of $350 is from a member of my family in the US .. ” (http://globalpoliticalshenanigans.blogspot.co.uk/2012/06/psi-due-diligence-20102011-selected-e.html).

Best regards, Pete Ridley
Pete Ridleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08258973141061114628noreply@blogger.com
